Coucou ! Moi c’est Coline et je suis l’illustratrice derrière Yaba. Toutes mes illustrations sont faites depuis mon petit appartement à Paris, entourée de plantes et de mon tendre chat. Ma maison est mon atelier, c’est le lieu dans lequel je me sens le mieux pour explorer ma créativité. Je suis très attachée au dessin sur papier c'est pourquoi je dessine beaucoup à la main même si je suis sans cesse à la recherche de nouvelles techniques et nouveaux supports.
Pourquoi Yaba ? c’est la contraction inversée de Baba Yaga, une très célèbre sorcière des mythes slaves. Je voulais un nom aussi mystique que mes oeuvres, qui rappelle mes très chères origines tchèques, grandes sources d’inspiration.

Hey there! I'm Coline, the illustrator behind Yaba.
All of my illustrations are created in my cozy little apartment in Paris, surrounded by plants and my sweet cat. My home is also my studio, the place where I feel most at ease to explore and express my creativity. I'm deeply attached to drawing on paper, which is why I work a lot by hand, even though I'm constantly exploring new techniques and materials.
Why Yaba ?
It's a reversed contraction of Baba Yaga, the famous witch from Slavic folklore.
I wanted a name as mystical as my artwork, one that also nods to my beloved Czech roots, which are a big source of inspiration for me.
